Fire Rescue NSW received numerous triple zero calls to a house fire at Union Street, Coraki with reports people could be inside at about 5am today, Saturday, August 15.
On arrival, Coraki Fire and Rescue crew found a two-level house well alight, and quickly got to work with multiple lengths of hose to try and put out the fire.
Fire crews were able to confirm that no one was in the house, but there were reports that two dogs could possibly still be at the premises.
Firefighters protected the sides and rear of the house and when the fire was eventually extinguished, the house was totally destroyed by fire.
One person was treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation.
Fire and Rescue NSW had six fire trucks at the scene.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of this fire.
A Coraki resident said one of the dogs was still missing – Bruce, a six year old male brindle white staffy cross.
“He may be injured or hiding somewhere, the resident said.
