Police stop car using road spikes and arrest man

Police attempted to stop an allegedly stolen Toyota Hilux ute on Summerland Way at Wiangaree at 2.50pm on Tuesday, March 21.

When the ute allegedly failed to stop as directed, police chased the car but stopped a short time later because of safety concerns.

The ute was tracked to Caniaba where road spikes were deployed. The ute came to a stop shortly after driving over the spikes.

A 28 year old Casino man was arrested taken to Lismore Police Station.

He was charged with police pursuit, not stopping and driving dangerously, driving a car while his licence suspended and receiving property stolen outside NSW.

The man was refused bail.
