Almost 1500 people in Casino are without power today, Sunday, February 25 as Essential Energy crews complete work expected to finish at 4.30pm.
Crews are replacing poles, cross-arms and completing general maintenance to keep the network operating reliably.
Hotter temperatures have placed additional pressure on the power grid as people try to stay cool, Essential Energy said.
Customers affected by today’s outage were sent advance notification from Essential Energy.
The area impacted by the outage includes Casino Memorial Hospital. The hospital switched to backup generator power during the planned power outage in Casino on Sunday.
