Rescue helicopter airlifts patient after farm buggy rollover

Paramedics were called to a farm buggy rollover at Bentley last Sunday, September 10.

At 2.15pm, paramedics treated a patient at Pine Creek Rd, Bentley.

The patient was then airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

Further details about the patient and their medical conditions were not available.

NSW Ambulance did confirm it was a buggy not a quad bike that was involved in the rollover.

According to a Safer Farms 2023 report, 1705 people have lost their life on farms since 2001.

Nearly 30% of these fatalities were from tractors and quad bikes.

In 2022, 55 farmers lost their lives on farms – 20% from tractors and 14% from quad bikes.

Legislation to have rollover protection bars on quad bikes came into effect on October 11, 2021.
