Kyogle residents, your mayor for the next two years is Danielle Mulholland.

Ms Mulholland was the only nominee and therefore was automatically declared mayor at the Kyogle Council meeting on Monday, October 14.

Ms Mulholland moved from the councillors table to the top table to chair the rest of the meeting.

”I am very honoured and very privileged,” she said.

Next task for the meeting was electing a deputy mayor.

Again, there was only one nominee — that was councillor John Burley. He was automatically declared deputy mayor and he will serve for the next two years.

The meeting then continued with those in the meeting referring to Ms Mulholland as Madam Mayor — this is part of the formality of council meetings.
