RFS crews busy with fires at Drake, Bentley and Koreelah, one fire has burned 255 hectares

Fires currently burning.

RFS crews were busy this weekend putting out fires at Mud Flat, Jubullum, Pretty Gully and at Bentley.

The Mud Flat fire near Drake has burned 255ha and is not yet controlled.

The RFS said ground crews were on the scene and heavy plant equipment was heading to Mud Flat today, April 13.

There was a helicopter assisting with the fire along with RFS crews from Drake, Tabulam, Old Bonalbo and Ewingar.

There will be more smoke in the area as the fire hits greener grass, the RFS said.

Fire crews are heading to Bentley Road and Naughtons Gap Road this morning to continue controlling a grass fire that has burned 15ha.

Fire investigators are seeking the cause of the Mud Flat and Bentley Road fires.

Crews from Tabulam as well as the Mallanganee captain worked quickly alongside Hogarth Range Brigade to extinguish the fire.

This morning Tabulam and Drake RFS crews attended a car accident on Paddys Flat Road where they treated the driver until paramedics arrived.

Over at Woodenbong, a burn got out of control at Koreelah and Woodenbong and Legume RFS crews assisted with the fire.

RFS advises everyone to download the Hazards Near Me app and reminds property owners that they must notify the RFS before a burn.
