Police attempted to speak to the driver of a car stopped on Fredericks Road, Caniaba at about 11.45am today, Saturday, August 15.
Police said the driver drove away before they could speak with her.
A short time later the car was spotted travelling west along Caniaba Road.
Police tried to stop the car and when it did not stop, police gave chase.
Road spikes were deployed on Spring Grove Road, Spring Grove, the driver ran over the spikes and continued before turning onto Gores Road and stopping a short distance away.
The driver – a 37 year old woman – was arrested before being treated by paramedics and taken to Lismore Base Hospital.
Inquiries continue.
