COVID: School closed for cleaning after positive case

Susanna  Freymark

Late last night, Casino High School informed parents that a member of the school community had tested positive for covid.
A letter was posted to the school’s Facebook Page notifying students and staff that the school would be closed and they should self-isolate immediately.

The closure allows time for contact tracing and cleaning.

Principal Daniel Moar said they were working with NSW Health.
“The safety and wellbeing of our staff and students is of paramount importance to us at all times,” he said.
“As such we will continue to work closely with NSW Health to ensure that all necessary health advice is adhered to.”
Mr Moar said while the situation was disruptive and inconvenient for families, it was important to take all necessary precautions to minimise the risk of further transmission into the community.
Students could access learning resources online until they received further advice.
