Teen charged with break-ins at two servos

A teenager has been charged following alleged break and enters at two service stations – one in Broadwater and the other in Evans Head.

On Tuesday, February 20, at 3.35 am, a service station on Baraang Drive, Broadwater, was ransacked.

Police allege that a glass door was smashed before the property was ransacked and items were stolen from the premises.

A short time later, a service station on Woodburn Street, Evans Head was also ransacked with items stolen.

Both businesses were closed at the time and no injuries were reported.

Police investigated the two incidents and believed they were linked.

Following extensive inquiries, a 15 year old boy was arrested yesterday, Monday, February 26.

The teenager was taken to Lismore Police Station and was charged with two counts of aggravated break and enter and stealing.

He was granted strict conditional bail and will be in the children’s court on Friday, April 5.
