The rights of renters: Have your say in rental reform survey

The State Government is running a survey on rental policy.

The survey will inform the government’s rental reforms aimed at making renting fairer.

The survey questions include questions about:

â—Ź Ending no grounds evictions

â—Ź Making it easier to have pets

● Protecting renters’ personal information and privacy

â—Ź Easier transfer of rental bonds from one property to another

â—Ź Other ways to improve conditions for renters

State MP Janelle Saffin said in the ongoing housing crisis in the Northern Rivers it was important to be doing everything possible to take the pressure off renters.

“We have both formal and informal arrangements for housing in our region, and I think it’s important that local people have a say in the rental changes so that they reflect our needs,” Ms Saffin said.

Have your say on rental reforms until August 11 by visiting the Have Your Say page.
