“We are open.”

Bonalbo has its pub back this afternoon when the Dog ‘n’ Bull Hotel opens at 2pm.

Publicans Marcy and Carl Agnew invite locals to pop in.

There will be pizzas available from 6-8pm. And punters can watch a game of Origin too.

While the pub will look the same, locals will notice some changes.

As a former rugby league and AFL player, Carl has sports memorabilia adorning the pub walls with some new jerseys framed and displayed.

The infamous cardboard cut-out of footballer Paul Gallen is still at the pub lurking in a corner somewhere.

The pub has been closed for months after it was sold to a broker who moved the poker machines to a Campbelltown pub.

The room where the pokies were is now a kid’s room.

To finally open the pub is a dream come true for Carl.

After running a smash repair up the coast, and now living in Tabulam, running a pub is exactly what he wants to do.

“I’m a people guy,” he said.

Carl has ordered the same lines of alcohol the previous publicans ordered, “because that’s what the community wants,” he said.

The pub opens today, Wednesday, July 13.

Any day now… pub doors to reopen with new publicans
