Volunteers wanted at flood hubs: Donation lists include heaters, hammers and hoses

Donations for those impacted by floods continues. The needs have changed over the last two months. Here’s an update from the Coraki, Woodburn and Broadwater hubs.

Coraki

Coraki residents now need vacuum cleaners, microwaves, heaters, single beds, clothes racks, chests of drawers, lawnmowers, pots and pans, camping tables, carpet, mattresses, hammers, screws, nails, paintbrushes and rollers, scrapers and tarps.

Donations can be taken the youth hall in Bridge St, Coraki.

Woodburn

The Woodburn hub needs all hands-on deck this weekend, Saturday, May 7, to help organise the space.

The volunteer brief starts at 7:45am and there will be a barbecue lunch.

The Woodburn Hub is at McGeary Bros, 9640 Pacific Hwy.

Here’s the latest list of what Woodburn residents need.

Broadwater

The hub is at the Broadwater Hall.

The hall is open 10am-3 pm. Orange Sky laundry is there 9am-12pm.

There is a community ideas board inside the hall.

Disaster Relief Australia have moved but Samaritan’s Purse are in Broadwater  and may be able to help with tasks such as strip outs and cleaning.

Starting May 10, people at the hall can register GIVIT requests on behalf of residents of Broadwater, Riley’s Hill and Dungarubba.

To have your requests submitted, visit the Broadwater hub on Tuesdays from 12-3pm to 3 pm. If you cannot attend at that time, email broadwaterhub@gmail.com

Requests for items such as a fridge or washing machine can be submitted.

All your personal information will remain within the local system. All requests are entered into the GIVIT system anonymously.

Beers on the Green at Broadwater

This Friday, May 6, there are Beers on the Green at Broadwater from 3pm

Bring a chair and put your feet up. There will be beer and wine for sale at local prices and light refreshments.
