VOTING OPTIONS: Early votes at Casino pre-poll booth, postal or on election day. No online voting

Early voting for the Federal election opens today.

If you can’t vote on Election Day on May 21 or don’t want to, vote early.

Pre-poll in Casino

In Casino there is a pre-polling booth at Casino Community and Cultural Centre at 35 Walker St.

Voting hours are:

Saturday May 14: 9am-4pm

Monday, May 16 to Thursday, May 19: 8.30am-5,30pm

Friday, May 20 8.30am-6pm

Saturday May 21: 8am-6pm

There are no other pre-polling booths in Richmond Valley or Kyogle LGAs.

Can I post my vote?

You can vote by post if getting to a polling place is not convenient for you.

You need to apply for this as soon as possible. You can request a postal vote anytime before May 18 by going here.

What if I’m overseas?

If you are overseas the Australian Electoral Commission recommends registering for a postal vote.

Voting is compulsory for all Australian citizens aged over 18, however you will be exempt if you are overseas but you must notify the AEC if you are unable to vote by submitting an overseas notification form.

Postal votes will be accepted for 13 days after the election.

What if I’m in other state on election day?

If you are interstate on Election Day find out where you can vote here. 

You have to go to a specific polling centre so type in your details to find out where.

No online voting

There is no online voting.

Voting by phone

Telephone voting is available for anyone who is blind or has low vision or if you are isolating from covid in the three days before the election or if you work in Antarctica.
