We do more than read books – Kyogle turns the page ready for the festival

More than 55 readers brought their books and chairs to the main street of Kyogle today for a bookish flash mob.

Kyogle Reads the Street was hosted by the Kyogle Readers and Writers Festival.

A couple from Fairy Hill won a double pass to the festival for dressing up as Biggles and Miss Bennett from Pride and Prejudice.

Everyone else received a single pass from the Kyogle Readers and Writers Festival team.

It was simply wonderful to see a row of people reading books trail down Summerland Way in front of the shops.

There should be more of it – reading that is.

And you can do plenty of that – and listening and meeting people at the Readers and Writers Festival in Kyogle next weekend.

Check out the festival program for May 17–18 here.

Below are photos from Kyogle Reads the Street today, Saturday, May 11.
