Where Remembrance Day services are being held

Across the nation, there is a one-minute silence at 11am on November 11 each year to remember those who died for Australia’s cause in all wars and armed conflicts.

Here are details of services and commemorations for Remembrance Day this Friday.

Casino RSL sub branch

There will be a bugle call and flag protocols at the Mafeking Lamp at the roundabout on Walker and Barker streets. The service starts at 10.55am. Afterwards people will go to the Casino RSM Club for fellowship.

Richmond Valley Council will put out the soldier silhouettes on the roundabout.

Woodburn Evans Head RSL sub-branch

There will be a small service at the cenotaph next to the Woodburn Evans Head RSL Club at 10.30am followed by a minute’s silence at 10.30am for an 11am start. There will be food after the service at the Evans Head RSL.

Kyogle RSL sub-branch

The cenotaph is in Kyogle’s Memorial Park and a service will be held there at 10.45am.

Bonalbo RSL sub-branch

At Patrick McNamee Anzac Memorial Park for the laying of wreaths at 11am. Reverend Peter Boughey will lead the service. Refreshments at the pub after the service.

Tabulam

The service is at the Light Horse Memorial in Tabulam at 10.50am. There will be refreshments served at the Tabulam Hotel afterwards.

Woodenbong

We are waiting for confirmation about a service at Woodenbong.

Urbenville

Urbenville Public School with the Urbenville RSL Sub Branch invites parents and the community members to a Remembrance Day Service at the school starting at 10:30am.

Morning tea will be served after the service.
