Where to go on Anzac Day for services, marches and two-up

Here is a list of Anzac Day services for Kyogle LGA and Richmond Valley

RICHMOND VALLEY

Broadwater

Assemble at 5.30am at the Broadwater Community Hall for a community service and breakfast. Gold coin donation for breakfast.

Casino

Meet outside the Casino RSM at 5.10am for the march to the Mafeking Lamp for a 5.30am service.

Service at Casino Memorial Hospital at 7.45am

Service at Drill Hall at 8am.

Assemble in Graham Place for main march at 10.15am with a community service in front of the Casino RSM at 10.45am.

At 4.45pm there is another service at the Mafeking Lamp.

Coraki

Assemble at 9.45am at the Coraki Hotel for a march to the cenotaph in Riverside Park for the service.

Evans Head

Assemble at 5.20am on Woodburn St near the bus stop. March to Memorial Gardens for a service at 5.30am.

New Italy

At 11am there is an Anzac service inside the New Italy Museum. There will be an honour roll and display of the 13 first generation Australians of Italian descent who fought for Australia in World War I.

Rappville

Dawn service at 5.30am at the Anzac memorial in Nandabah St.

For the day service assemble at Rappville Post Office at 10.30am to march to the Anzac memorial.

Unfortunately, the honour boards to replace the ones lost in the 2019 fires will not be unveiled on Anzac Day. This will happen on May 20 at 2pm.

Rileys Hill

Assemble at the Rileys Hill Memorial for a community Dawn Service at 5.45am.

Woodburn

The Woodburn service begins at 10am and therefore we are asking students to meet at 9:45 am outside the Woodburn Post Office building and march at 10am to the memorial at Riverside Park.

KYOGLE LGA

Bonalbo

Dawn Service at Patrick McNamee Anzac Memorial Park at 6am.

At 10.45am: Gather at corner of Sandiland and Peacock streets to march to the Bonalbo Community Hall.

11am: Service at Bonalbo Community Hall hosted by Bonalbo CWA.

Kyogle

Dawn Service at the cenotaph at 5.30am and a gunfire breakfast will be held after the Dawn Service at the Kyogle Bowling Club.

At 9.15am, assemble for the march in Geneva Street (opposite Exchange Hotel).

March through town centre to Cenotaph at 9.30am with a service and wreath laying at 10am.

Mummulgum

The Anzac Day Dawn Service will be held at Mummulgum School at 5.30am.

Mallanganee

There will be an Anzac Day service at 11am at the Memorial Gates.

Old Bonalbo

At 9.30am there is a service at Old Bonalbo Soldiers’ Memorial Hall hosted by Old Bonalbo CWA.

Tabulam

Meet at the skatepark at 10.30am for the march to the memorial for a service at 11am. The parade  will be led by a drummer and two horses from the Australian Light Horse regiment.

Refreshments at the Tabulam Hotel afterwards.

Woodenbong

Assemble for March opposite Foodworks at 10.30am for a 10.45am march.

At 11am there is the formal Anzac Memorial Service at Woodenbong Public Hall with MC David Hannant and guest speakers Donna and Greg Gulliver.

At 11.45am: March to the Lest We Forget Sign for wreath laying ceremony

At 12.30pm: Diggers luncheon at RSL Hall ($25 a person numbers limited)

Between 4-8pm there is two-up run by the Woodenbong War Memorial Trust and Woodenbong RSL sub-Branch at the Woodenbong Hotel.

There will be a minute’s silence at 6pm.

OTHERS

Wardell

Dawn Service at 5:30am. Poetry by John Hagan at Wardell Memorial Hall

Tea, coffee and Anzac biscuits after the service

Places open on Anzac Day

Hotel Illawong, Evans Head. Live music The Jacks Band

Commercial Hotel, Rappville, two-up starts at 12.30pm. Lunch 11.30–2.30pm

Broadwater Bowling Club will be holding two-up from noon

Casino Golf Club invites you to two-up with Mark Formaggin from 1pm

Walker Street Cafe, Casino is open Anzac Day, 7am-1pm

Hotel Cecil, Casino, open from 6am for breakfast and coffee. Bar doesn’t open until 10am.
