There was a larger yarding of 1900 head which was up by 560 from last week at the cattle sales at the NRLX in Casino today, Wednesday, July 29.
The yarding of young cattle consisted mainly of weaner steers and heifers.
The market varied considerably which was mainly quality driven.
Restocker weaner steers sold 10c cheaper and more in places, ranging from 300c to 578c with the medium weights averaging 509c/kg.
Restocker weaner heifers were 20c easier, some plainer calves more, selling from 285c to 446c/kg. Yearling feeder steers sold to a top of 528c/kg.
The yarding of export cattle consisted of a small offering of grown steers and heifers. Grown steers to process sold to 410c, while feeder steers sold to 402c/kg.
The larger yarding of cows consisted of a mixed offering with a few more plainer conditioned cows sold.
The 2 score light cows sold from 248c to 332c, while the medium weights ranged from 330c to 350c.kg.
Medium weight 3 score cows averaged 362c and heavy cows sold from 370c to 388c/kg.
There was some good runs of store crows suitable for restockers that sold to a dearer market reaching a top price of 358c/kg.
Heavy bulls sold to 402c/kg.
