Chairs thrown, hammer used to cause head injuries in restaurant fight involving four teens

A fight broke out at a restaurant in Casino at about 7pm on Saturday, April 13.

Four male teens aged 15, 16, 17 and 19 had bought food and moved to an outside dining area at the restaurant.

It was here the teens spoke with two older males, 37 and 41, who they didn’t know.

The exchange of words escalated into a fight.

Police allege all four teens picked up chairs and threw them and used them to strike the men.

Police also allege the teens punched and kicked the men.

One of the teens allegedly used a hammer to strike the 41 year old man in the face and head causing serious facial injuries and fractures.

Police and paramedics arrived on the scene. The man with head injuries was taken to Lismore Base Hospital for treatment.

Police found four teens a short distance from the restaurant. They were arrested and taken to Casino Police Station where they were charged.

Three of the teens were refused bail. They appeared in Children’s Court on Sunday, April 14.

The fourth teen was given bail (with conditions) and will be in the Children’s Court this Wednesday, April 17.
