COVID:  905 new cases in Northern Rivers, ICU number remains at six

There were 905 new covid cases reported from the Northern Rivers today.

These were located in these LGAs:

Richmond Valley 41

Kyogle 8

Lismore 80

Ballina 145

Clarence Valley 45

Tenterfield 1

Byron 247

Tweed Heads 338

*rapid antigen tests are not yet included in these numbers.

There are 53 covid patients in hospital in Northern NSW, with six of these in ICU.

The Northern NSW Local health District reported two covid deaths. Both people were in their 70s and from the Tweed Heads area.

Across NSW 63,018 positive covid test results were recorded. This included 37,938 positive rapid antigen tests and 25,080 positive PCR tests.

There were 29 deaths: 15 men and 14 women.

Of the 29 people who died, 19 people were vaccinated against covid and 10 people were not vaccinated.
