It has been a busy afternoon for RFS crews today, Wednesday, June 14, with multiple grass fires out of control.
Casino 7 crew rushed to an escaped fire on Old Dyraaba Rd. Woodview RFS attended too.
Then there was a fire at Bundocks Rd where another fire had escaped.
A crew from Mummulgum who was working at a third escaped fire responded to Casino to assist at both fires after extinguishing the fire at the Bruxner Highway.
There was some damage to cars at the fires.
With the grass drying out quickly because of frosts, it’s a timely reminder if you plan to light up, have resources in place in case the unexpected happens.
On Hazards Near Me app, there have been several grassfire alerts in the past two days including Broadwater Beach Rd, Bundocks Rd, Old Dyraaba Rd, Bruxner Highway at Mummulgum, Lumleys Lane at Wardell, Edenville Rd at Kyogle and at Bruxner Highway at Drake.
