Crowdfunder launched for Laurie Bean’s cancer op

When word about Laurie Bean having cancer for the fourth time got out, the community in Peacock Creek and Bonalbo rallied round.

With an auction organised in the hope of raising the $7000 plus needed for an operation on Laurie’s voice box, many people wanted to know how to donate if they couldn’t make it to the auction at the Bonalbo Bowlo at 5pm tomorrow, Saturday, February 19.

One of the young men who has put his hand up to have two hours of his time auctioned off to help raise the money, has set up a Go Fund Me crowdfunder for those who would like to donate.

Oscar Ballintyne lives up the road from Laurie and his wife Carolyn.

“Laurie has asked me to set up this Go Fund Me for him as the complexities of computing seemed too much for the 75-year-old Irish golf wizard,” Oscar said.
