People are still dealing with the clean-up from the floods, State MP Janelle Saffin said.

So, it is welcome news that the NSW Environment Protection Authority assistance with cleaning up large and hazardous debris from the 2022 floods is still available.

As parliamentary secretary for Disaster Recovery Ms Saffin has welcomed the news.

“If you have large items over 25kg or 1 cubic metre in size, or hazardous waste, including toxic or flammable items such as gas bottles, you can register for assistance,” she said.

The EPA assistance does not extend to natural debris such as trees or vegetation and the waste must have come from the 2022 floods.

To apply for assistance, contact the NSW EPA on 131 555 or email flood.programs@epa.nsw.gov.au.

You will need to provide details of your location and the type of debris for your eligibility to be assessed.

Applications close on May 1.
