Fire crews rush to house fire in Casino

Fire crews were called to a house fire at 99 Colches St, Casino at 2am this morning, Friday, May 20.

Fire and Rescue NSW 253 Casino rushed to the house fire amid reports that there may have been people inside.

Upon arrival, the house was well alight, with fire burning in the rear bedroom and thick smoke coming from the rest of the house.

Two crews with two firefighters in each crew, put on breathing apparatus and entered the rear of the house with two lines of hose. The first crew quickly searched the house and gave the all-clear: no persons inside.

The fire was brought under control and all hot spots were extinguished.

The house was extensively damaged by fire, smoke and water.

Fire and Rescue NSW 316 Station Goonellabah’s Hazmat Sprinter attended the fire to replace used air cylinders.

Police, ambulance and Essential Energy crews were also at Colches St.
