The whale Rachel McIntyre painted has been found.
Rachel’s husband Dan McIntyre is posting a photo of his wife’s artwork every day on his Facebook page and is printing a small book of the art for Rachel’s 20 nieces and nephews.
Rachel was 53 years old when she died on May 22 this year.
When Dan said he couldn’t find a photo of the whale without anyone in front of it, IndyNR.com published a story about his search.
Today, Wednesday, August 26, Jess from Centre Street Dental phoned and said Rachel’s whale painting had hung in the dentist’s waiting room until it sold.
The surgery regularly hangs artwork from Cassino Art Gallery on its walls.
A woman came in and bought the painting for her mother. Rachel’s whale is now pride of place at a home in Tabulam. 
“I hope this brings Rachel’s family some happiness as this stunning artwork brings a lot of joy to the family it went to,” Jess said.
Jess sent the photo to the Indy and we sent it on to Dan.
“Myself and the step kids appreciate what you’ve done and we’re glad it’s gone to a loving home,” Dan said.
Dan can now post the whale photo and include it in the book honouring his artist wife.
