Two sports grant programs have opened up for local sporting clubs.

One program is aimed at encouraging female participation in grassroots sports and the other for maintaining and improving Crown lands reserves.

Level the Playing Field Program

This is a new program offering $30million to support the growth of women’s and girls’ sport and recreation inspired by the success of the Matildas at the Women’s World Cup.

The program will fund new and upgraded facilities such as change rooms and improved lighting, to foster a safe and inclusive environment for women and girls.

Level the Playing Field Program applications close on November 30 at 1pm.

Crown Reserves Improvement Fund

This program provides funding to maintain and improve Crown land reserves for the use of communities, with $14million in grants and $2million in loans on offer. Eligible applicants include local councils, community organisations and user groups licensed to use Crown reserves, as well as commons and showgrounds on freehold land.

The program helps maintain and upgrade reserves and facilities on Crown land.

CRIF applications will close on November 17 at 5pm.
