HART has a new office upstairs at the Casino Community and Cultural Centre.

Janelle Standing is at the Casino office to direct calls and transport requests for people wanting to get to medical and health related appointments.

The volunteer based organisation has offices in Lismore and Kyogle as well.

HART stands for Home Assistance Regional Transport. Ms Standing worked for decades with the Casino based Richmond Valley Transport. The two groups came together last year to continue to offer the service across the region.

Administrator Heidi Green said it was good for HART to have a physical presence in Casino.

The service covers more than 8,000 square kilometres across the Northern Rivers helping people who have no means of transport to get to medical appointments, shopping and social outings.

HART Services has seven cars, two buses and 30 volunteers in the Richmond Valley and Kyogle LGAs.

Volunteer drivers make more than 10,000 trips each year.

HART is always looking for more volunteers drivers, if you can help call 1300 874 278.

Volunteering at HART can be part of a Centrelink mutual obligation if required.
