Jay Urquhart Purdon heads to Sydney for the high school state sports championships this Monday, September 11.
Jay is 13 and lives near the village of Drake which is more than 800kms from Sydney.
Jay is an awesome athlete according to his mother Clare Urquhart.
“He is really dedicated to his chosen events of shotput, discus and javelin and trains three days a week,” she said.
Clare has set up an online fundraiser to help cover the costs for her and Jay to go to Syndey.
Jay goes to St Mary’s College in Casino and at the High School Regional Sports Carnival Jay came first in all three events and was named Age Champion at the carnival.
