Hundreds of households impacted by power outages after storms

Several areas have been impacted by power outages after tonight’s storms.

Wires are down affecting 700 people in Afterlee, Eden Creek, Cedar Point, Ettrick and Geneva. A resident said power is back on at Cedar Point, this was at 9.15pm.

The cause of the power cut in Boorabee Park is unknown and is impacting 116 people.

At Bentley and surrounds, the cause of the power outage is unknown. It is affecting 123 people.

About 340 people living in Horseshoe Creek, Green Pigeon, Collins Creek and Warrazambil Creek are without power.

Essential Energy staff have been deployed and are not able to provide estimated restoration times as this stage, Essential Energy said.

About 300 customers in Eden Creek and surrounds have just had their power restored at 9.30pm.

Some customers in that area remain without power. Estimated restoration times will be posted on Essential Energy’s website once known.

Essential Energy apologises for any inconvenience and reminds everyone to stay at least 8m away from fallen or damaged powerlines and report to 13 20 80.
