Julie Kilpatrick comes from a long lineage of CWA members.

Her grandmother was a founding member of the very first branch of the CWA – the Crookwell branch – which formed almost immediately after Grace Munro put out a call to action at the 1922 Royal Easter Show, calling on country women to form branches of the new association.

Julie’s 45 year involvement in the CWA was acknowledged at the CWA Kyogle Evening Branch’s meeting on August 13 when she received a Life Membership for her service and dedication to the organisation.

Julie does it for friendship and to help others.

“We do a lot to help the community,” she said.

“We help in disaster as well.”

Grace Munro founded the CWA in 1922.

Julie has been a member in a number of branches including the Mullumbimby branch, Kyogle branch, and Kyogle Evening branch. She joined the Kyogle Evening branch in 2015 when the branch formed.

Julie has held many positions including International Officer for the Kyogle Evening branch and was instrumental in organising the CWA Centenary Ball for the Kyogle Evening branch in 2022.

“We’d like to have more members,” Julie said.

Joining the CWA in Kyogle is a great way for new people to make friends, she said.

CWA Kyogle Evening Branch meets on the second Tuesday of the month at the 6pm at the supper rooms at the KMI Hall.
