Evans Head has a strong rugby league community and the absence of a junior side has long been a discussion point.

This year a committee was formed to resurrect a junior rugby league for the Evans Head Bombers.

On Saturday, November 18, the NRL development team ran a rugby league clinic in Evans Head.

The excitement for the new club was evident with more than 50 kids turning up to practice their skills.

Lifetime Bomber and junior club president Glenn Deas said it was  such a great turnout for the clinic.

“This echoes the feedback and excitement we’re hearing from within the community about the formation of the club and the great opportunity it provides for our kids,” he said.

The committee are already planning for another clinic to be held in February to coincide with their sign-on day.
