Medical teams winched down to patients from helicopter

  

Bora Ridge

Late this evening, Wednesday, March 2, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter flew to a property at Bora Ridge.

Because of the flood conditions, the critical care paramedic team was winched down to the patient.

An 87-year-old man was treated by the aircraft medical team for a serious medical condition.

He has been airlifted to the Lismore Base hospital in a stable condition.

Meerschaum Vale

Earlier today the Westpac Rescue Helicopter attended a farming accident at Meerschaum Vale.

A woman in her 60s sustained a crushed hand in the incident.

Due to local area flooding the helicopter medical team were winched down to attend to the woman.

She was treated before being winched to the helicopter and transported to the Lismore Base Hospital in a stable condition.

Rock Valley

On another rescue mission today, the helicopter flew to a property at Rock Valley.

A woman in her seventies suffering from a medical condition was surrounded by flood water. 

The aircraft medical team stabilised the lady before airlifting her to the Lismore Base Hospital. Her condition was reported to be stable.
