The former service station on the Bruxner Highway at Tabulam is undergoing a transformation.

It will reopen as an independent called Local Servo Tabulam.

The owner has set up a Facebook page called Locals Servo Tabulam.

Indynr.com spoke with the owner and manager and they’re keen to do a story but wanted to wait until they had done up the shop and put the petrol bowsers in.

So until they’re ready to do that, locals can know that the service station will be an independent service station, there will be a shop, takeaway food and fuel.

Sanchit Passi will be the manager of Local Servo and live out the back with his wife.

“I’ll be the one who’ll be moving to this beautiful area by the end of this month and will take care of this moving forward,” he said.

“We’ll try our best to become the part of this community as soon as possible and will make sure that we can provide the best of our services with utmost respect.”

Petrol tanks going in.

A lot of work will be done on the existing building.

On the servo’s Facebook page a work update was given.

“Fuel guys have finally arrived to place new fuel pumps but it might take up to three weeks from today for them to get everything going as they have to start from scratch since we didn’t wanted to take the chance with the old pipelines and fuel tanks and asked them to put in everything new.”

Depending on how the work goes, owners are hoping to open the doors in early August.

The interior will be transformed.
