The Governor-General of Australia invites National Emergency Medal nominations to recognise locals who assisted in the 2022 flood disaster.

There is no deadline for the nominations which can be made here.

There are separate submissions – those who helped within an organisation such as the SES – and private people. Read the eligibility criteria here.

This is ideal for our tinnie heroes and others who assisted in a significant way during the floods and for them to be acknowledged for their efforts in helping residents when they needed it most.

The medal awards do not include recovery efforts after the floods.

Apply here and if you need assistance email nem@gg.gov.au or phone 6283 3604.

This is information is from the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia website.
