Pet me, pat me, feed me: Animals to visit farmers market

The farm is truly coming to the Casino Farmers Market tomorrow, Saturday, July 9.

Gracemere Farmstead is bringing the farm animals into town.

Bethany Mantle has a market stall every week where she sells eggs and pasture-raised chicken meat from the Yorklea farm.

She wants the children to have a bit of fun, so she is bringing along a baby lamb, a miniature goat, chickens and Banjo the new puppy.

Will Banjo be a good boy at the market?

How will she contain the animals?

I haven’t thought about it yet, she said.

She reckons a mesh fence will do for the lamb and goat. A big tub for the chickens and Banjo the puppy can free range.

“I wanted to let the kids see some animals they might not have seen before,” Bethany said.

The animals and food stalls will be at the Casino Lions Farmers Market at Crawford Square in South Casino from 8am-11am tomorrow Saturday, July 9.
