Police are seeking information to identify the man in the image as he may be able to assist with inquiries into an alleged theft which happened in Kyogle in August.
At 2.40pm on Monday, August 28, an unknown man entered the rear of a store on Summerland Way before finding a handbag and wallet in an office.
Police were told that cash was taken from the wallet before the man left the store by the rear stairs.
Police have released the description of a man they believe can assist investigators with their inquiries.
The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged 50-60, clean shaven, with medium build.
At the time of the incident, the man was wearing a baggy blue jumper, dark-coloured shorts, a grey baseball cap and thongs.
