Rider thrown off horse onto rocks, flown to hospital

A rider fell from her horse and was thrown over a fence onto rocks at a property at Jiggi, between Kyogle and Lismore.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter flew to the scene at 2.20pm on Tuesday, January 18.

The 41-year-old woman had serious injuries.

Local NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter critical care medical team treated and stabilised the rider.

She was airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition for further treatment.
