Tabulam fire downgraded to Watch and Act as reinforcements head west, school closes

The fire at Oglivie Drive, Tabulam has had its alert level downgraded to Watch and Act. It has burned 1311 hectares.

There are 113 fires burning in NSW with a cluster of fires around Tenterfield.

Fire and Rescue trucks headed over the range tonight, Tuesday, October 31 to assist with the fires.

The trucks came from Grafton, Ballina, Brunswick Heads, Byron Bay plus some crew members from the Casino Station.

Many RFS units are at the scene of the fire and an evacuation centre has been set up at Tabulam Hall.

It’s a windy night and will be a busy one for all the crews.

The Department of Education confirmed that Tabulam Public School will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, November 1 because of the unpredictable fire situation at Tabulam.
