Here are two of the crimes Richmond Police District dealt with in the past month:

Casino

On August 1, police stopped a car travelling on West St.

A 16 year old boy who was a passenger in the car ran away, police said.

When police managed to stop the boy, they reportedly found he had a knife, ammunition, cannabis, items suspected of being stolen and a prohibited weapon.

While in police custody it is alleged the boy damaged police property, for which he has been charged.

The boy was released on bail to appear before Children’s Court on September 29.

Bruxner Highway

On July 31, police stopped a vehicle on the Bruxner Hwy near Casino.

The driver, a 30 year old man, is alleged to have been driving while suspended.

Police said he failed a roadside breath test and he was taken for breath analysis at the Casino Police Station, where he returned a low range reading of 0.063.

During a search of the man’s property while he was in police custody, a small amount of cannabis was found, police said.

The man has been charged, and released on bail. He will face Casino Local Court in September.
