Tinnie Heroes voted best short film by audience

ABOVE: At the Bangalow Flickerfest, Susanna Freymark and Jimmy Malecki won the audience prize for their film Tinnie Heroes.

The hall was packed and all eyes were on the screen at the Bangalow Flickerfest on Saturday, February 18.

IndyNR.com presented Tinnie Heroes – a film about the floods.

Paul Shields and Jenny Fraser from Kyogle were there for the screening of the film they made with Paul Daley called The Crossing Project about the river and bridges in Kyogle.

Fifteen films were in the finals for the Best of Northern Rivers Shorts.

Tinnie Heroes won the Audience Award for Best Short Film. Glory, a film about the war in Ukraine by Cheyenne Alonso and Yan won the Jury Award for Best Short Film.

IndyNR.com editor Susanna Freymark and film maker Jimmy Malecki made Tinnie Heroes based on the boat rescues in Richmond Valley with a focus on Woodburn and Broadwater.

The film will have its official launch at Woodburn on March 1.
