Train tracks have been repaired after the floods in March and the XPT service can now run between Casino and Brisbane with buses no longer needed to replace trains.
The months of weather-related disruptions impacted the trains between Sydney and Brisbane with track damage in NSW.
Minister for Regional Transport and Roads Sam Farraway said it was great news for the North Coast region as it recovers from flooding.
“The North Coast route between Sydney and Brisbane is NSW TrainLink’s longest XPT service, covering 1,012 kilometres over 15 hours and stopping at 24 locations,” Mr Farraway said.
