What a packed weekend – Here’s What’s On

How many days in a weekend? Only two unfortunately. Because there is so much on this weekend, we need more days to enjoy it.

So What’s On.

The big weekend event today, Friday, October 11 and Saturday, October 12 is the Casino Show.

IndyNR.com was out at the Pavilion today judging the photography section.

Nearby, the judging of the cakes was taking place and then all cakes were put into the new glass display cabinet.

There are exhibitions of flowers, eggs, honey, craft, art, children’s baking, biscuits and more. Did I mention the cakes?

Tonight is the rodeo and tomorrow there is plenty of action with the monster trucks, roly poly cars and so much more you’ll need to go here to find out more. The horse events have been cancelled unfortunately.

Let me tell you about the markets — there are the regular farmers markets at Evans Head (today) and Kyogle and Casino on Saturday morning but this weekend there are also markets at Tabulam, Rappville and Casino Golf Club on Sunday.

I hate to mention the C-word (Christmas) but these markets are ideal for finding something special as a gift.

Plus I see shopping at markets as giving twice — the market stallholder gets the gift of good takings for the day.

On Saturday, there is trivia at Eden Creek Hall and a free concert at Bonalbo Memorial Hall with the Haystack Mountain Hermits.

I’ve seen them perform — they are outstanding. And the concert is free.

Kyogle is rocking some country music this weekend and Cawongla is crafting tonight.

Check the details of these events at our What’s On.
