Whew! Severe weather warning cancelled by BOM

BOM has cancelled the severe weather warning.

A major flood warning remains for the Richmond River at Coraki, Bungawalbin and Woodburn

Flooding is slowly easing along the Richmond River. Casino and Kyogle have fallen below the minor flood level.

River levels are expected to continue to fall during today, however there is some possibility of renewed river level rises due to rainfall today and into the weekend

The Richmond River at Coraki is currently near 6.80 metres and falling slowly, with major flooding. Levels may fall below the major flood level of 5.70 metres on Sunday.

The Richmond River at Bungawalbin is currently near 6.40 metres and falling slowly.

The Richmond River at Woodburn is currently near 6.20 metres and falling slowly, with major flooding. Levels may fall below the major flood level of 4.20 metres on  Sunday.

Flood Safety Advice:

In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. If you require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, ring NSW SES on 132 500.

* Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place.

* Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood.

* Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains.

* Never drive, ride or walk-through flood water. Flood water can be deceptive and dangerous.
