Windara is the new licensee of the canteen at the Northern Rivers Livestock Exchange and today, Saturday, July 29, was Windara’s first sale day.
It was a busy day at the saleyards with a large crowd at the saleyards for the Casino All Breeds Sale.
Windara will cater for all sales at the NRLX but with the current standoff between agents and Richmond Valley Council, the future is uncertain.
Windara has been operating in the Casino area since 1992 from its function centre on Sextonville Rd. It is a disability enterprise providing employment and training for people with disabilities in Casino and surrounding districts.
Windara employs 37 local staff including supported employees.
The NRLX canteen has a seating area where people can watch StockLive on a screen while they have something to eat. The refurbished canteen has new seating.
