The Bureau of Meteorology reported major flooding along the Richmond River at Coraki, Bungawalbin and Woodburn.

This isn’t news for residents. They are watching the water rise. The ones who have a house that wasn’t destroyed by the previous flood sit in their homes anxiously watching the streets flood again.

In Woodburn many of the houses are empty.

The Richmond River at Coraki is peaking near 6.80 metres.

The Richmond River at Bungawalbin is peaking near 5.50 metres tonight, Thursday, March 31.

The Richmond River at Woodburn is expected to peak near 4.60 metres tomorrow morning, April 1.

At 9.30pm, resident Paul Stanley-Jones said floodwaters still had not dropped.

These major flooding events come a month after the region experienced the worst floods ever seen in Richmond Valley and Kyogle LGAs.
