COVID: 776 new cases in Northern Rivers, RAT results not included January 13, 2022 FacebookTweetLinkedInEmail The number of new covid cases jumped in NSW today because the past 12 days of self-testing were included in the tally for the first time. There were 92,264 positive covid tests in NSW. Of these 61,387 were recorded from rapid antigen tests and 30,877 from PCR testing. Across the state there are 2,383 people in hospital with covid, 182 people are in ICU. There were 22 covid deaths. Anyone who doesn’t report a positive covid result for a RAT can be fined $1000. In the Northern Rivers 776 new covid were reported today. RAT results are not yet included in Northern NSW Local Health District’s case numbers. The new cases were located in these LGAs: Richmond Valley 45 Kyogle 14 Clarence Valley 52 Lismore 86 Tenterfield 5 Tweed Heads 260 Ballina 138 Byron 176 There are 62 covid positive patients in hospital in Northern NSW with six of these in ICU. Residents continue to report that RATs are difficult to find and buy.
