A large tree has fallen down on Kyogle Road, about 2km west of Cawongla Village, on Cawongla Range at about 2pm today, Tuesday, October 1.
Kyogle Council said the road will be temporarily closed while staff remove the tree.
The road is expected to remain closed for a couple of hours.
Traffic is being diverted. Drivers can detour via Cawongla Road, Rock Valley Road, Bentley Road at Tuncester and onto Summerland Way.
Travellers to and from Murwillumbah and Tweed may prefer to travel along Bentley Road to Lismore and then travel via Bruxner Highway to the Pacific Motorway.
