Free showing of The Crossing Project, a film about our waterways

We live in a landscape filled with water.

Kyogle and its surrounds is cut through by a thousand creeks, rivers, streams, springs, flood waters and trickles. Some are here for the long haul, some come and go like the XPT up to the Big Smoke.

This description of The Crossing Project is on the Kyogle Writers Festival website.

The Crossing Project is a 23-minute film about 10 local creatives who dive into where our lives intersect with our waterway.

Up Toonumbar, up Green Pigeon, over Tabulam, Wiangaree, Old Cob o’Corn and Brown Knob. Round Bonalbo, through Upper Horseshoe Creek. Forrest Tops, Brindle Creek, the Lost World, and the Big Hole. Hanging Rock. Billen Cliffs, the Old Gonpa. Round the back of Ettrick. Past Daley’s. Down by the Bowlo and watch out for the flying foxes. Lapping at the IGA carpark.

This film project was planned to debut at the Kyogle Writers Festival earlier this year, unfortunately floods happen, and the release date was set back until now.

The Crossing Project was funded by a Festivals Australia Grant.

100% of this funding was spent locally to support creatives in the Kyogle LGA.

See the film The Crossing Project at the Roxy Gallery in Kyogle on Sunday, July 10 at 2pm. Entry is free.

The Crossing Project is directed by Paul Shields, filmed and edited by Paul Daley with audio by Chris Wesely.
