In session: Court house reopens after two year closure

Casino Court House has been repaired after flood damage and is open for court sessions on May 9.

“When will the Casino Court House be operational?”

Councillor Steve Morrissey asked this question at last night’s council meeting on Tuesday, April 16.

Council’s general manager Vaughan Macdonald said he had been advised that the repairs from flood damage had been completed.

The court house is already open for registry services and court sittings will resume on May 9.

“Nice outcome to have that back in operation,” Mr Macdonald said.

People have had to travel to Lismore for court for the past two years.

The reopening of the court house is good for businesses in Casino CBD too as court days bring people to town.
