Supporters of Justice 4 Jamikka walked from Casino Police Station to the Casino RSM Club this morning, Saturday, August 19.

Mother of two Jamikka Binge-Olive was bashed in Casino on June 23. Candice Drew was charged with assault.

Jamikka later died after a seizure on July 28.

Jamikka’s aunty, Paula Coghill said the protest was to highlight the lack of treatment and care given to Jamikka by police after she was bashed.

“We are highlighting the injustice and failures of the system,” she said.

“We want to ensure this never happens again.”

Aunty Noelene Binge-Hickling said Jamikka’s children were crying.

“They want their mum to come home,” she said.

“That’s not going to happen.”

As the family grieves, an autopsy is being completed on Jamikka to determine what caused her death.

Here are photos from today’s protest.
