The 19 year old man involved in a fight in the dining area of KFC, Casino, was granted bail with strict conditions at Lismore Court on Monday, April 15.

In the fracas at KFC on April 13, chairs were thrown and a 41 year old man was hit in the face and head with a hammer.

Lewis Roberts has been charged with reckless wounding and his bail conditions include where he lives (with his aunt and uncle) and he must not leave the premises between 7pm–7am unless in the company of his aunt or uncle. He is also banned from speaking with the three co-accused teens.

The judge said he must be on good behaviour and not commit further offences.

It isn’t the first time KFC has had a violent incident take place on its premises.

In May 2022, there was a brawl in the KFC car park and a 17 year old boy was killed.

A KFC spokesperson made a statement in relation to the fight last Saturday:

“We’re shocked by the incident that occurred at KFC Casino and thankful that no staff or customers were physically injured. Our team members have been offered counselling services and support.

KFC has put extra security measures in place at the Casino restaurant.

“Our franchisee is working with police to assist with their investigation,” KFC said.
